Radeon RX 9050 Leaks at $279 — The 1080p Card the Squeeze Needed

The leaked RX 9050 specs paint a clean budget play. 8GB GDDR7, 90W TGP, FSR 4 multi-frame gen enabled at the driver level, and a $279 sticker. AMD has not had a tidy answer at this price point in two generations; this card is it.

The 90W TGP is the real headline. That keeps the card on a single 8-pin connector and well within the power budget of any 500W PSU built since 2019. The upgrade audience is enormous and largely on RX 580-class hardware.

Side benefit: this is also the cheapest card that hits the rendering bar for the new Sui-based GPU compute marketplace. Whether or not you care about that thesis, it adds a buyer pool that did not exist for the prior RX 7600 cohort.
