Elgato Stream Deck Mini Refresh — A Cheaper Mid-Tier
$79, six new keys, USB-C, the same software ecosystem. The competition for second-screen workflow control just got harder.
Elgato refreshed the Stream Deck Mini at $79. Six keys instead of four, a USB-C cable that does not pretend to be 2017 hardware, and the same software ecosystem and plugin marketplace as the bigger Decks.
The pricing is the news. At $79 the Mini undercuts every realistic third-party hardware control surface and steals the entry into the Stream Deck universe — which means more new users locked into the Elgato software ecosystem long-term.
For the open-tooling crowd, the relevant detail is that the new firmware finally exposes a documented HID protocol. That means open-source plugin authors can build wallet, RPC and on-chain trigger workflows without going through the Elgato SDK gatekeeper.
